Privacy Policy
Updated September 23, 2026
This policy describes how Jeka handles information in its iOS keepsake journal (com.jeka.moments) and on these legal pages.
1. Information used by the app
The app stores the start date you choose for your day count, the display names you enter, milestone titles and dates, memory entries with their photo, title, reflection, and mood, voice recordings you attach, and your Moment Credit balance together with verified purchase and transaction identifiers needed to prevent duplicate delivery. We do not receive your payment card details.
2. Why information is processed
Information is used to count your days together, show milestone reminders inside the app, build and edit memory drafts, play your voice whispers, populate the optional lockscreen widget, and deliver purchased credits. All of these operations run on your device. No photo, recording, reflection, or date is sent by Jeka to a developer-operated server.
3. Camera, photos, microphone, and notifications
- Camera: requested when you tap Capture Now in the Memory Editor. You can use Add Photo instead.
- Photos: Add Photo opens Apple's system picker, which shares only the photo you select without giving Jeka general access to your photo library.
- Microphone: requested only when you record a voice whisper in Voice Moment. Recordings are stored in the app's local storage and are never uploaded. You can skip audio entirely.
- Notifications: requested once so the app can remind you of upcoming milestones. You can decline and still use every feature.
You can change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
4. Purchases and Apple services
Apple processes consumable purchases and may handle payment, transaction, and account information under its own privacy policy. Jeka uses verified StoreKit results to deliver Moment Credits and records transaction identifiers locally to avoid granting a purchase twice. Refund or revocation information may remove unused credits associated with that purchase. Apple's records are controlled by Apple and are not erased by clearing Jeka data.
5. Sharing and website hosting
Jeka does not sell your content or personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or upload it to a developer-operated content server. Your memories stay on your device unless you choose to export a photo yourself. The public copies of these policies are hosted by GitHub Pages. Visiting this website sends ordinary connection information, such as your IP address and browser request, to GitHub as the hosting provider. These pages include no analytics, embedded trackers, or external fonts. Inside the Jeka app, the same pages open over HTTPS in WKWebView; the app does not ship a separate offline copy of these policies.
6. Retention, deletion, and your controls
Local content remains until you delete it. You can delete individual memories and recordings, remove milestones, and use Settings > Clear All Data, which after confirmation erases all memories, recordings, milestones, and remaining credits from the device. Transaction identifiers are retained locally solely to prevent duplicate purchase grants and are not used as a marketing profile. Deleting the app removes its app storage, subject to iOS backup and restore behavior. Jeka provides no account recovery or cloud synchronization service.
7. Security
Local information uses the iOS app sandbox and device protections. Keep your device protected and export important photos before deleting data. Because we do not maintain a server-side copy of your memories, we cannot retrieve lost local content.
8. Children and policy updates
The app is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information through a developer-operated service. We will update this policy when the app's data practices change and revise the date above.
9. Contact
For privacy or support questions, contact jeka.moments.help@gmail.com. Please do not send payment card details or private photos unless they are necessary for your request and you choose to share them.
